Post Closing Expert

Department: Mortgage

Summary:

To provide support in the Post-Closing Department to ensure that loan files are audited, shipped and sold to secondary investors in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure timely and independent loan file auditing when files are received in the Post Closing Department.
  2. Review signed settlement documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with closing instructions.
  3. Ship files via electronic upload/overnight delivery to secondary market investors/ mortgage insurance companies and cure any post-closing issues that may arise.
  4. Field customer calls regarding post-closing issues or first payment questions.
  5. Ensure compliance with the Bank policies by utilizing loan review, loan operations and deposit operations staff as needed.
  6. Maintain excellent customer relations and the confidentiality of the customers personal information.
  7. Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory required training.
  8. Attend various mortgage courses or other general banking courses as required.
  9. Perform all other duties as assigned.
  10. 2-3 years relevant experience or equivalent knowledge and currently working in post- closing department for any US Firm or Bank.

 Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of basic mortgage forms and documents.
  2. Ability to manage workload in order to meet investor shipping deadlines.
  3. Ability to perform basic accounting functions as it relates to incoming customer payments and insurance premiums paid after loan closing
  4. Understand basic FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan requirements, guidelines and documentation
  5. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of real estate lending practices including federal and state regulations
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while interacting with mortgage underwriting, sales staff and clients.
  7. Effective interpersonal relationships with customers, management and team members
  8. Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs as well as in house document retrieval and electronic communications.
